OVERVIEW
The picturesque villages; sankri, seema, boslo, taluka will hold you in sight with their splendid beauty. exploring deep inside the venerated valley of garhwal himalayas, ruin sara lake is located in the arm of kalanag peak which is 14 km from seema village. BEST TIME TO VISIT
from the month of march to may and september to october are considered as the best time to visit ruinsara tal. The region receives heavy rainfall and snowfall and the route gets muddy and slippery in monsoons.
ROUTE TO RUINSARA
The gateway of this trek is through uttarkashi, a district in uttarakhand which is 139 km from dehradun. It is a 55 km long trek and can be completed in 4 to 5 days. The trek starts with an easy hike until you reach a colossal waterfall. Your trial will be under the clear blue skies and the chestnut, sycamore and deodar forming canopies.
we will move ahead in the supin river valley, on the edge of the peak beside the tons river. Moving at a constant pace will lead you to the lush green meadows. When you pass over the meadows, you have to cross a bridge which is on the small stream and the trail will be tricky because of the ruined route due to heavy downpour. You have to be very careful in this session.
RUINSARA TAL CAMPSITE
It is a heaven for camping sites amidst the panoramic breathtaking views of grandeur himalayas. It is a heaven for bird watchers, you will find birds like cuckoos, owls, parakeets, minivets and thrushes.
HOW WILL YOUR EACH DAY LOOK
DAY1, drive 198 km to sankri base village from dehradun. you will be homestaying in sankri village.
DAY2, drive 15 km to taluka, which is the base camp of ruinsara trek. then a 12 km trail on foot till you reach the first campsite in seema. The trail is all about walking on meadows amidst forest and himalayas in the backdrop.
DAY3, trek to kalkatiyadhar from seema, which is 7 km and takes a maximum of 4 to 5 hours. you will be traversing through supin river and crossing the ridge from where you will get a spectacular view of the valley.
DAY4, trek to oslo via har ki dun, a 14 km trail and takes 7 hours of trekking. trek starts from meadows and soon you will be crossing a waterfall. witness the swargarohini peak in the backdrop.
DAY5, trek to untigaad, a 10 km trek usually takes 6 hours which will lead you to the snow capped mountains while gaining some elevation in the altitude. rest around the sparkling streams and enchanting view of the peaks.
DAY6, you will be trekking to ruinsara lake and the further to devsu bugyal. a 12 km stretch. start your trek as early as possible so that you can spend more time at ruinsara tal. explore the pristine lake which is a memorable experience for the rest of your life. continue to trek to devsu bugyal, which seems like green carpet layered on the mountain. it will be your campsite for today.
DAY7, head back to taluka, a 15 km trail which will take 8 hours. then drive to sankri village.
DAY8, drive back to dehradun from sankri village via uttarkashi. which indicates the end of your memorable trip.
