Introduction
If you are a student at the University of Minnesota Mankato, you have access to D2L Brightspace. This is a site where you can view course materials and view assignments. You will need your StarID and password to log in.

You will be directed to a new tab that asks you to select the type of user you are: student, faculty, or guest.
If you are a student and you have never logged in before, then you will need to create an account. If you have previously used D2L Brightspace, then enter your username and password.

Also, use your Mav ID if you have one. If not, we recommend using your StarID as it is more secure than using your email address and phone number.
Select “Mav ID”.
The Mav ID is the StarID for students, faculty and staff. It’s the same for all university systems and can be used to log into any part of the network.

Type in your StarID and your password.

- You can use the same password for all of your online services, including MyUofMN, MNSU D2L and other University of Minnesota systems (i.e., on campus). If you need to change your password at any time, just go to [myuofmn](https://www.mnsu-d2l-brightspace/login) and click “Change Password”.
You will be prompted to enter your StarID and then asked to create a new password. You can also reset your password by clicking on the “Forgot Password” button on myuofmn.
D2L Brightspace login should automatically redirect you back to the Minnesota State Mankato D2L Brighspace site when you have successfully logged in with your StarID.

This will take you to a page that shows all of the devices registered with your StarID and their current status. If your StarID is working properly, you can go to https://my.mnsu.edu/webapps/vista/portal/Home and click on the “Find my Device” button. This will take you to a page that shows all of the devices registered with your StarID and their current status. If any devices are not working properly, contact your IT department or the ITS Help Desk at 507-389-4444 or [email protected]
